Dr. Howard Tingling has been in practice since 1979. He received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Michigan in 1977 and M.S. degree in orthodontics from the University of Michigan in 1979. He has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 1993 and has done extensive postgraduate work at the Tweed Foundation in Tucson, Arizona. He is also required to do at least 60 credit hours of continuing dental education for each licensure period of three years.

Dr. Tingling taught at the University of Michigan graduate orthodontic department for eight years. He was an examiner in the specialty of orthodontics for the State of Michigan for six years and was appointed by the Governor to the Dental Specialty Task Force for four years, one year of which he was the chairman. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, Detroit District Dental Society, National Dental Association and the Wolverine Dental Society.
